What is a Community School?

We have big plans for DDS next year and we are so excited to welcome you to be a part of it. For the 2020-21 school year, we are launching a new Community School model. According to the National Education Association, a community school is a “center of the community that brings together academics, health and social services, youth and community development and community engagement under one roof, leading to improved learning, stronger families, and healthier communities.” The six pillars of a community school include:
